South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida have discussed the latest missile launches by North Korea.
Yoon’s office said the leaders had agreed in Thursday’s telephone conversation that North Korea’s recent missile tests were “a serious, grave provocation” that threatened international peace.
Kishida’s office said the two reaffirmed the importance of the deterrence capability of the Japan-U.S. and South Korean-U.S. alliances, as well as security cooperation among the three countries.
The two leaders also agreed that Seoul and Japan would cooperate to sternly respond to North Korea’s provocation.
