The England women’s football team created history by winning the title of a major tournament for the first time. Hosts England beat eight-time winners Germany 2-1 in extra time in the final of the Women’s Euro Championship played at Wembley Stadium in England for a record 87,192 spectators. Substitute Cole Kelly gave England this special achievement by scoring a corner goal in the 10th minute of extra time.
Both the teams were tied at 1-1 till the stipulated time.
