In the wake of banning online gambling becoming deadly, the government has sought views from the public and stakeholders. After the opinion of all the sections, the government can bring a law to ban online gambling.



It is worth noting that in the recent past, the news of suicides by people who lost money in online gambling made headlines. Politicians and rights activists called for the game to stop. Keeping in mind the changing developments, the government has decided to consult.

Tamilnadu Government sought public opinion

Consultation meeting on 11th August

The Principal Secretary said that the said class can send its responses to the Home Department’s email address (dsddw-hh@hlth.ddsh1.dbth) by August 12. Organizations wishing to submit their reports in person can submit their suggestions to the concerned authority by August 9. The consultation meeting of all stakeholders will be held on August 11 at 4 pm.

Organizations will be allotted counseling time separately.

Tamilnadu government committee constituted

The state had banned online gaming. Then the court lifted the ban. As a measure to pass the bill now in effect, retired Justice K. The committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of Chandru. It will give its recommendation regarding the new law. Meanwhile, the government has decided that it will consult with the general public, parents etc. and online game service providers regarding the proposed bill for online gambling.
